Education at Sagehen Creek Field Station

Sagehen Creek Field Station is a dynamic learning hub where education spans from early science exploration to advanced university research. As part of the UC Natural Reserve System, Sagehen supports a broad range of field-based learning experiences that foster ecological literacy, critical thinking, and a connection to the Sierra Nevada landscape.

Whether you’re a K–12 student seeing a snow crystal under a microscope for the first time, a UC undergrad designing a field research project, or a community member attending a citizen science workshop—Sagehen brings science to life.

What We Support

Sagehen hosts and facilitates a wide range of educational activities, including:
